How to create ringtone using iTunes~

*if you can't see the photos clearly, click into the photos for a better view.

1. Click the icon on the top left and select "preferences"

2. Go to general and make sure you have already ticked "TONES" in the sources section.


3. Choose whatever song you want in your iTunes, and right click it.
now click "Get Info"


4. Now go to the "Options" tab


5. Check the "start time" box. Type in the point in the song where you want the ringtone to start in the format minute:seconds. You can be more precise by adding a full stop and putting milliseconds in. (example 1:20.8)

6. Do the same thing on "stop time" box as what you did on "start time" box. Press okay after you have done everything. 

*Now u can play the song and check whether you're satisfied with the time you chosen or not.
The song will start and stop at the time you selected.

*Ringtone can only be a maximum of  39seconds long

(an example)


7. After you have done everything. Right click on the same song. Choose "Create AAC version".


8.There will be a new file created, but it will only be the segment of the song you specified earlier. Now right  click the new file, click "show in window explorer"


9. The following step will bring you to the file location.


10. Move the "m4a" to your desktop, right click the song, click "rename".


11. Rename the file from "xxx.m4a" to "xxx.m4r". The file will automatically changed into ringtone format.


12. Now go back to the song you had chosen, go to the "options" tab and change back to the original play time. 


13. Don't forget to delete the shortened version of the song in your iTunes library.


14. Now go back to the ringtone you had created just now, double click it. and it will be automatically launched by your iTunes. 
15. Now you can find your ringtones in the "Tones" section.
